Dog Walking / Visits

All services provided by me Lisa Pullen trading as Lone Wolf Walks (hereafter known at the Walker) to you the dog owner (hereafter known as the Owner) shall be subject to the following terms and conditions. By accepting any services you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions in full.

General Terms

The Owner agrees to:

  • provide a safe and secure collar appropriate for the breed of dog being walked;
  • ensure that the dog is microchipped and has an up to date ID tag;
  • inform the Walker of any medical conditions affected the dog being walked;
  • inform the Walker of any other factors that may affect provision of the services such as behavioural issue, anxieties or general issues which may affect provision of the service;
  • pay all agreed sums for services in advance by the agreed payment method (except where agreement is made for payment in arrears, in which case payment shall be due within 7 days of a dated invoice presented to the owner in paper or electronic format);
  • provide access to the owners home for the sole purpose of delivery of the services; and
  • pay all and any vet bills accrued for emergency medical care required for the Owner’s dog

The walker agrees to:

  • keep safe all keys provided to enter the Owner’s home and use them only in provision of the service;
  • keep confidential any details of security devices, alarm codes or other information provided for the provision of this service;
  • ensure that all physical locations and activities performed in provision of this service are appropriate for the age and type of breed of the dog and to hold uppermost the welfare of the dog at all times;
  • keep the Owner’s dog on a lead at all times when being walked;
  • walk only the owner’s dog as a solo walk (except where the Owner books services for a second dog from a family group);
  • provide emergency care as required and in the event of an emergency requiring further treatment deliver the dog to the Owner’s preferred veterinary practice unless doing so would be detrimental to the dogs wellbeing ,in which case the dog will be delivered to the nearest vet.; and
  • return all keys, safe codes and other security details provided at the end of this agreement when any outstanding amounts are paid in full by the Owner.

Cancellation or Early Termination

  • Either party may terminate prepaid services with a minimum of 24 (twenty four) hours prior to the first scheduled walk or visit without incurring any further charges.
  • Cancellation by the Owner of scheduled walks or visits with less than 24 hrs notice may be charged at the full rate or rescheduled at the discretion of the Walker.
  • Should any dog become aggressive or dangerous, the Walker may terminate this dog walking contract with immediate effect.
  • Any wrongful or misleading information provided by the owner in relation to their dog may constitute a breach of terms of this agreement and be grounds for instant termination thereof
  • Where rates have been discounted for bulk booking and are subsequently cancelled subject to the provisions in this paragraph, without a qualifying number of walks/visits performed the prepaid amount to be returned shall be calculated disregarding any discount applied.

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, the Walker shall contact the Owner at the numbers provided to confirm the Owner’s choice of action. If the Owner cannot be reached timeously, the Walker is authorised to:

  • Transport the dog(s) to the Owner’s preferred veterinarian;
  • Request on-site treatment from a veterinarian;
  • Transport the dog(s) to an emergency clinic if the previous two options are not feasible.

the Owner agrees to pay all and any costs incurred associated with providing emergency care.

Liability

  • The Walker accepts no liability for any breach of security or loss of or damage to the Owner’s property if any other person has access to the property during the term of this agreement.
  • The Walker shall not be liable for any mishap of whatsoever nature which may befall a dog or caused by a dog who has unsupervised access to the outdoors.
  • The Owner shall be liable for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to the Walker caused by the dog as well as damage to the Owner’s property.
  • The Walker is released from all liability related to transporting dog(s) to and from any veterinary clinic or kennel, the medical treatment of the dog(s) and the expense thereof.
  • the Owner will hold the Walker free from all claims related to any damage or loss occurring at or to the Owners property whereas the Owner’s dog deposits mud, water or any other substance collected whilst being walked by the Walker

Indemnification

The Owner will not blame and payback the Walker against any and all costs, expenses, losses, liabilities and claims arising from the Owner’s dogs behaviour unless the dog walker is demonstrated to be wilful or negligent.

Whole Agreement

These terms and conditions herein constitute the sole and entire agreement between the parties with regard to the subject matter hereof and the parties waive the right to rely on any alleged expressed or implied provision not contained therein. Any alteration to this agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties.

Assignment

No party may assign any of its rights or delegate or assign any of its obligations in terms of these terms and conditions without the prior written consent of the other party, except where otherwise stated.
